Kim Cogan’s masterfully balanced oil paintings occupy a space between the familiar and foreign, nostalgic and contemporary, detailed and abstracted. Much like the ubiquitous fog blanketing San Francisco, Cogan’s subjects emerge from misty memories occupying a space suspended in time. Emotive marks commingle with precise rendering, grounding the viewer in hazy, cinematic scenes of the city’s paths less traveled.
The exhibition will be on view until September 28th, 2019 and should absolutely be sought out if you’re in the area.
